Literacy Consultant and Foundational Skills Expert

Dr. Julia Lindsey is a literacy consultant and foundational skills expert. Her research and work focuses on foundational literacy instruction, primarily by creating, implementing, and evaluating research-based, practical, and culturally responsive foundational skills programs, curricula, and texts. At present, she is working with various districts, non-profits, teachers, publishers, and other curriculum developers to find innovative solutions to improve early literacy instruction. Julia earned a BS from Davidson College, an MAT from Relay Graduate School of Education, and a Ph.D. from the University of Michigan’s School of Education. She is also a former elementary teacher.
