About this Research

Learners across the exceptionality continuum need materials that can easily be used in individualized instruction. Learning A-Z resources were designed for ample flexibility and individualization, allowing students to progress at their own pace while reinforcing key skills. Ubiquitous feedback, encouragement to students, and reports for teachers also meet research-based recommendations for teaching exceptional students.

This white paper includes sections about research on the following areas of learning exceptionality:

  • Response to intervention
  • Special education
  • Giftedness

The paper also describes best practices for teaching exceptional students, such as nurturing motivation, using graphic organizers, and explicitly teaching vocabulary, among others.
