NEW Writing A-Z was created with teachers in mind, which is why its curriculum was designed for maximum flexibility.

The NEW Writing A-Z grants educators with the power to select one of two pathways- Follow Our Path or Choose Your Path. Follow Our Path is an explicit, sequenced writing curriculum, whereas Choose Your Path offers a supplemental solution.

Writing A-Z Explicit K-5 Lesson Plans

Explicit K-5 Lesson Plans with Instructional Support

Our easy-to-use, explicit and systematic lessons follow the gradual release model (I Do, We Do, You Do). Units are organized by genre (opinion, informative, and narrative), and are broken into modules for a total of 80 standards-aligned lessons per grade level. Teachers have robust support with cheat sheets, tips, sample dialogue, and conference look fors.

Writing A-Z Point-of-Use Teacher Support

Point-of-Use Teacher Support

Writing A-Z’s embedded professional development resources equip teachers with multi-modal assets to build teacher confidence and competency in a matter of minutes rather than days, making it easier to fit into a busy schedule.

Embedded PD assets include Learn from the Experts videos, Put into Practice videos, Listen & Learn audio, and Read the Research articles.

Writing A-Z WaLT

Collaborative Writing Tools

Our trademarked digital writing tool, WaLT (Writing and Learning Together), offers a side-by-side view of planning and drafting space with access to reference texts, checklists, graphic organizers, and more.

For teachers, WaLT provides a place to model writing, while offering students a place to write without fumbling through cumbersome papers.

Writing A-Z Enhanced Student Engagement

Enhanced Student Engagement

Engaging interactivities and digital practice opportunities help students learn while reinforcing writing and grammar skills. A fun cast of characters accompany students on their learning journey as they complete quests to earn rewards through the student portal.
