A year of teachers shining, and students growing
It was a transformative year for Learning A-Z® as we continue to find new and better ways to serve our districts, schools, teachers, and students around the world. From expanding access to our literacy resources to introducing innovative tools, we work hand in hand with educators to help make a lasting impact on children’s lives through literacy.
As we close out 2025, we’re excited to share the highlights that shaped our story—and even more excited about what’s ahead in 2026.
Serving educators and students
In 2025, we proudly supported over 300,000 teachers and 5,000,000 students who read over 172,000,000 books and completed over 640,000,000 activities across our literacy solutions. Our Bookroom and Assignment areas saw the highest activity levels with students reading and listening to books, as well as completing activities and quizzes.
Commitment to research-based excellence
This past year, we were proud to earn several prestigious awards and certifications that highlight our commitment to following the research. These achievements reflect our deep commitment to delivering innovative, evidence-based solutions that empower teachers to support all their students on their literacy journey.
CODiE Awards
We received two CODiE Awards, with Foundations A-Z® recognized as the Best Science of Reading Solution for the second consecutive year and Raz-Plus ELL honored as the Best Solution for English Language Learners.
Efficacy certification
Our Raz-Plus solution achieved the EduEvidence Efficacy Gold certification, confirming its research-based effectiveness through rigorous evaluation by McREL International and Evidence for ESSA.
EdTech awards recognition
We celebrated multiple honors in the EdTech Awards, including a Cool Tool win for Raz-Plus® in the E-Learning category and finalist placements for Writing A-Z® and Vocabulary A-Z®.
Commitment to security
We maintained our ISO 27001 certification, reinforcing our dedication to information security and data protection.
Seamless integrations and enhancements
Our biggest update was introducing the newly enhanced Raz-Plus, now with equal emphasis on foundational skills and reading comprehension—providing educators with an all-in-one literacy solution to support their Science of Reading-aligned core curriculum. This change provides educators with a unified experience, simplifying navigation and offering easy access to foundational skills resources.
Data-driven insights
We also launched Administrator Usage Reports, providing real-time dashboards that enable schools to track teacher and student engagement. These reports empower administrators to make informed, data-driven decisions that improve instructional outcomes.
Enhanced navigation
To make resource access even easier, we improved the Raz-Plus menu navigation. The new design highlights literacy domains and streamlines the process for quickly and efficiently finding the right materials.
Stronger curriculum alignment
We added new correlations to core programs such as HMH Into Reading and Wit & Wisdom. These updates ensure our resources align more closely with district curricula, supporting educators in meeting instructional goals.

Empowering students to make a global impact
This year, we witnessed the incredible power of purpose-driven learning through the 2025 Star Donation Challenge. Together, we inspired students worldwide to turn their reading achievements into acts of generosity. By donating the stars they earned, students provided healthy meals, clean water, and school supplies to children and families in need.
Record-breaking participation and results
We are proud to share that participation reached new heights: 152,000 students, 56,000 teachers, and 14,000 schools across 140 countries joined the challenge. Collectively, students donated over 1.7 billion stars, fueling a 30% increase in total donations compared to last year. These stars translated into 161,000 healthy meals, 1.1 million days of clean water, and 179,000 school supplies delivered to communities worldwide. Learning meets purpose
The impact extended beyond charitable giving. Students who participated read three times more books and completed twice as many activities as their peers, proving that when learning is tied to purpose, engagement soars. This challenge didn’t just strengthen literacy skills—it cultivated empathy, social awareness, and a sense of global citizenship.
