In December 2022, they adopted Foundations A-Z®, a K-5 foundational skills solution built entirely on the Science of Reading to support their early readers, which aligns with the district’s curriculum through a scope and sequence mapped out for each grade level, enabling systematic instruction with flexible options for differentiation.

Results

Foundations A-Z made a significant impact. Teachers saw a change in their students’ literacy performance, noting an overall increase in skill growth based on their state assessments for students in grades K-3. The reading scores of students who were historically challenged suddenly took off.
