Did You Know There’s a Reading Contest With Real-World Impact?
Students Can Learn, Earn Stars, and Help Communities in Need
Students from all over the world are saving the stars they earn from reading and completing activities to prepare for the upcoming Star Donation Challenge, running this year from March 23 - April 24. Will your students be joining the challenge? Learn how to join for free with an extended trial if you are not already a Learning A-Z subscriber.
How the Star Donation Challenge Works
As students read and complete assignments within the Learning A-Z student portal,* they’ll earn stars that can be donated toward donating books, filling school libraries with local language materials, and training teachers in other countries.
Once the challenge has concluded, the top-donating classroom in each of the 50 U.S. states and D.C., as well as in five different countries, will win a class pizza party.** Learning A-Z will make a monetary donation, up to $20,000, on behalf of participating students to support Room to Read, our new partner.
Get your students motivated
Share this video with your students to get them excited about the challenge! They will learn how they can turn the stars they earn by reading and completing learning activities into boosting literacy around the world through donating books to students and helping to train teachers.
