Amy Wolford
Instructional Design Consultant
Amy Wolford has been in the field of education for over fifteen years. She began her career as a third-grade teacher, and after several years of working with struggling readers, she was inspired to pursue endorsement as a reading specialist. She received her M.Ed. in Reading Education from the University of Virginia. Since then, she has served as a literacy coach, reading interventionist, professional learning facilitator, and general education teacher. Her dedication and work with early literacy earned her 2021 Educator of the Year recognition. In addition to consulting on various projects for The Literacy Architects, Amy works with her colleagues at the University of Virginia on efforts to support educators and school districts across Virginia. Her professional interests include instructional coaching and dyslexia, with a focus on supporting educators in understanding the what, why, and how of evidence-based literacy instruction.
