The Assistant Audio Editor will be part of the Editorial Audio Production team and will work in a supporting role in the development of content for the family of Learning A-Z sites. This support can include, but is not limited to, assisting with the production and management of audio assets and listen versions for Learning A-Z products, assisting with CMS management and upload, and taking on special projects as needed.

Essential Job Functions

  • Support e-book/quiz production in daily project/product management, to include:
    • Prepare audio scripts for voiceover talent
    • Review scripts for typos, errors, and inconsistencies between audio scripts and digital books
    • Research and confirm pronunciations to ensure accurate narration and consistency between books
    • Review audio upon post-production delivery
    • Check for errors in the scripting, recording, and audio editing processes
    • Develop an understanding of standards for audio products
    • Inform reviewing audio editor or audio engineers of any necessary edits and pickups
    • Carefully follow processes for logging and communicating corrections
  • File management and tracking
    • Track audio e-book data in FileMaker, Microsoft Excel, and Google Drive spreadsheets
    • Follow established file organization procedures
    • Upload scripts and audio to the CMS
    • Communicate with managers, editors, and sync team members

Additional Job Functions

  • Assist in organization of nonbook and individual word audio assets
  • QA and review individual word association accuracy in CMS

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred, or equivalent experience
  • Familiar with digital publishing processes
  • 0-2 years’ experience working in relevant fields (digital publishing environment, implementing systems for tracking work flow and files, producing and managing audio products)
