Reading A-Z and Raz-Plus Now Correlate to the NWEA MAP Learning Continuum

Learning A-Z creates useful, high-quality resources that correlate to state and international curriculum standards, popular curricula and reading series, and major assessments. Raz-Plus and Reading A-Z already provide correlations to Common Core, U.S. State Standards, Language Proficiency Standards, the International Baccalaureate Curriculum, EngageNY, and a host of basal reading series.

Now, Learning A-Z continues its commitment to saving teachers time and making it easier to find just-right literacy resources for all students with new Raz-Plus and Reading A-Z correlations to Northwest Evaluation Association™ (NWEA™) Measures of Academic Progress ® (MAP®) and MAP for Primary Grades® (MPG® ) assessments. If your school or district administers NWEA growth assessments two to three times per year, Raz-Plus and Reading A-Z have the resources you need to deliver differentiated instruction that addresses students’ identified skill gaps.

Skill Practice

Many Reading A-Z and Raz-Plus leveled resources are designed to address the foundational and higher-order thinking skills that will be evaluated by the MAP and MPG assessments, such as analyzing informational texts, vocabulary acquisition, and phonics and word recognition. The resources are built around these and many other skills, making it easier for you to deliver instruction targeting the skills addressed in the NWEA’s Learning Continuum while giving students the practice they need to perform their best on the MAP and MPG assessments.

These downloadable PDFs, found in our Curricula and Assessments correlations, outline the specific resources that address the MPG assessments goals for Foundational Skills, Language and Writing, Literature and Informational texts, Vocabulary Use and Functions. The correlations also include resources that address the MAP assessment goals for grades 2–5: Informational Text, Literature, and Vocabulary Acquisition and Use.
