Learning A-Z is proud to announce that its adaptive online reading product, Headsprout, just won its third CODiE Award!
The Software and Information Industry Association (SIIA) awards CODiEs to exceptional products and services in the software and information industries. CODiEs are awarded on the basis of expert peer review and indicate a company’s dedication to providing the best software or information solutions for its customers. It is one of the most prestigious awards that an educational technology company can win.
Headsprout has won so many CODiEs because our peers in the educational technology industry recognize the quality and effectiveness of its research-proven reading sequences. Headsprout’s Early Reading Episodes take non-readers or emergent readers up to a mid-second grade reading level with 30 hours of online instruction. The Reading Comprehension Episodes coach students through practicing skills like making inferences, answering text-based questions, and identifying themes and main ideas. Students love the colorful interface and the fun characters they encounter as they journey toward reading proficiency.
Teachers and parents also appreciate how Headsprout engages students in mastering critical reading skills:
“My students asked (every day) when they would be able to go on Headsprout. Their eagerness for participation speaks volumes for the program,” said Tammi Hendrickson, a teacher at Zimmerman Elementary School in Zimmerman, Minnesota.
Parent Nikia Biles said, “My eight-year-old son who has dyslexia, auditory processing disorder, and dysgraphia has been using Headsprout for about a month now. He loves it! Headsprout has helped do what years of therapy has not been able to do. I would recommend this program to anyone.”
