Learning A-Z Reaches 8 Million Students Worldwide

Literacy-focused PreK–6 resources empower teachers to deliver personalized learning to students in 170 countries

Tucson, AZ—May 2, 2019 — Learning A-Z announced today that its literacy-focused PreK–6 resources now serve more than 8 million students and 500,000 teachers in more than 170 countries. This milestone underscores the growing demand for flexible, research-based blended learning solutions that provide teachers with resources to support every student, at every level.

“Learning A-Z was created with one simple goal: to help teachers ensure all students are successful in all areas of literacy. We provide engaging resources that students love to use and that save teachers time and enhance their instruction while allowing for the choice and flexibility today’s classrooms require. It is because of teachers’ experiences and students’ results with these resources that we now have the opportunity to serve more than 500,000 teachers and 8 million students around the world,” said Patrick Marcotte, president of Learning A-Z. “We are honored to be part of their efforts to expand literacy and help students develop the skills they need to excel in the classroom and beyond.”

The momentum behind the company’s growth follows a strong year, which included major enhancements to the Learning A-Z suite of products and new adoptions in districts and states across the country including Texas and New Mexico. The company also announced the publication of another independent efficacy study showing that students whose teachers use its blended learning solutions show higher achievement and interest in reading.

Animal Eyes, Jackie Robinson, and Nature Stinks are just a few of the thousands of book titles that excite and engage students in Learning A-Z’s literacy solution Raz-Plus. Students walk in each morning and, before our day even starts, grab a device and begin reading a book on Raz-Plus,” said Paula Barr, a second-grade teacher at Quail Run Elementary and the 2019 Kansas Master Teacher of the Year; 2018 Lawrence Public Schools Master Teacher of the Year; and 2015 INACOL Blended and Online Teacher of the Year. “Students also talk with friends about the Raz-Plus books they are reading at school and at home. I can't think of a more authentic reading experience for my students than to have the opportunity to choose what they read from so many engaging titles and to have access to these books at school and home.”

Learning A-Z produces research-based products that blend traditional teacher-led instruction with online resources to support differentiated instruction and blended learning.
